So as to keep my Blog up to date… Weekend was lazy relaxing by the pool with Rick and did get my Kayak into the Gulf. Went along the shore and surprised the swimmers with the ease of speed in the pedal type Kayak. Fun to jump up on a wave .

Hammerhead

A new painting everyday while I am working on the large canvas. Off my balcony I see some people getting instruction for scuba diving yesterday. That would be fun except the night before I joined some fisherman on the beach and sat on top (really!!) of this hammerhead...straddling hold with my thighs as they removed the hook and set it free again.

A little late for Mothers Day, how about Fathers Day

It is a bit late, but not for Fathers Day... so this is the first of Dad's ... the painting is a man holding his son after birth.
I experienced holding the cord so the father could cut the cord. Little "Adam" which is what the couple named, looked at me first of All! This look was one that make me take note because I had just seen it the day before when I sat with a very very old and peaceful woman as she left the world.

It's been 1 year from my 1st Blog

So it has been one year from my first blog. I didn't blog much. Recently I learned that if you blog and it is attached to your website (debslowey.com) then the google search engines and web crawlers and bots find your website first because the blog is new material. ummm so I am going to make an effort. I have been journaling from the time throughout my life, will the blog be the same as a journal?
Today was my birthday.
 Last year on my birthday I did a drawing of a seashell.  A two hour drawing- charcoal and pastel. I really love drawing, it is a good discipline- draftsmanship. I found a frame for it. I exhibited it in an instructors show.

Today I painted a little. I have a canvas on my easel that is about 40" x 50", the biggest of the light-weight pre streched canvases. It is a complicated work. I am excited by it today. It is unknown to me what exactly it will look like when it is done but I know when it is done... fun and exciting.

I also started up my scooter this afternoon and met a few of my girlfriends at a beach bar where I did partake in a few wild and crazy dances with bathing bodies extraordinaire, followed by a dip in the waves to cool off ... I love a Saturday birthday. I already had my maypole. A most beautiful wedding was mine as we all danced around a Maypole.
